Step into a world where poetry flows as freely as tea! Join us for Poet-Tea, a playful and inspiring program for dreamers, writers, and curious minds of all ages. Drop in at the Jonesborough Library on Monday, April 6, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. Whether you're a seasoned poet or someone who just enjoys a good rhyme, this program promises creativity, connection, and a sprinkle of imagination.

As you settle in with a refreshing glass of lemonade or a soothing cup of tea, you’ll be invited to explore a variety of poetry styles in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. No pressure, just pure creative fun!

Get ready to experiment with words in exciting ways:

  • Community Poem – Collaborate with others to create a shared masterpiece

  • Acrostic Poem – Spell it out in poetry style using meaningful words

  • Senses Poem – Capture the world through sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch

  • “I AM” Poem – Express your identity and imagination

  • Haiku – Discover the beauty of simplicity in this classic poetic form

  • Blackout Poetry – Turn ordinary text into extraordinary art

  • Duplo Poetry (for younger poets!) – Build poems block by block using colorful Duplos

Take a break, sip your drink, and enjoy two special poetry readings throughout the event. Let the words of others inspire your own creativity and maybe even spark your next poem!

Whether you're crafting your very first poem or are an avid poetry writer, you'll find encouragement, laughter, and inspiration here. So bring a friend, bring your imagination, and come ready to play with words. We can't wait to create with you!
