Meet Jessica –  Jessica is a Library Services Assistant who loves to read mystery and crime, thriller and horror, and fantasy books. She loves listening to audiobooks when her eyes get tired or when she has to do other mundane tasks that take away from reading. She will never finish her TBR list! She enjoys relaxing at home with her dogs and shopping online at Amazon! She also frequents the Dollar Tree to see what goodies she can find.

This month, Jessica reviewed the mystery fiction book No Rest for the Wicked by Rachel Louise Adams.

"Mystery and murder and mayhem - oh my! This book has all the spooky, scary, spine-tingling, Halloween thrills and chills that you’re looking for this time of year.

Rachel Louise Adams creates a story with mounting suspense, filled with long-hidden family secrets and unexpected twists. This book pulled me in quickly with characters that were believable, terribly flawed, and emotionally complicated. There is a constant feeling that something is not quite right in this town that is famous for its Halloween celebrations and its dark history of violent deaths linked to the holiday.

There were moments when I thought I knew exactly what was going on, only to realize that I had been looking at everything the wrong way. I love it when a book causes me to question what I thought I already knew. It made me pay closer attention, kept me guessing, and kept me turning the pages.

This book reads like an intense scary movie - complete with grisly murders and revenge!

Rachel Louise Adams has definitely earned herself a spot on my “I’ll read whatever she writes next” list. In fact, her next book in this series, ‘Where There’s Smoke,’ drops in August 2027!"
