Meet our Gray Branch Library Manager, Christy – Christy is a professional book nerd who has worked in public libraries for 35 years.  She lives in Virginia with a menagerie of family members and fur-grandbabies.  When not at work, she can be found reading and writing mysteries, solving puzzles, and watching trash TV.

This month, Christy reviews Run for the Hills by Kevin Wilson!

Reuben Hill is a man on a mission.  Abandoned by his father thirty years ago, he hires a private detective to find him and ends up with more than he bargained for. In addition to having several wives that he never bothered to divorce, Reuben’s father has several families and careers that he simply walked away from with no explanation. Determined to find some meaning in this chaos, Reuben leaves his quiet Boston life in search of answers.  In his trusty P.T. Cruiser, he sets out on a cross-country quest to round up all his half-siblings and find their elusive father, and maybe himself as well.  As the newly acquainted group of half-siblings gets closer to pinning down their elusive father, they and the reader begin to wonder—have they already found the treasure they are seeking?

Kevin Wilson is a Tennessee writer who has a penchant for unusual storylines and quirky characters.  Found family is a common theme in Wilson’s novels, and this story takes that theme to the next level.  This book is for anyone who enjoys a good road trip, memorable characters, and crazy family dynamics.  Wilson takes the reader on an entertaining and surprisingly heartwarming ride in this book and creates new fans of his work along the way.
